Type | Announcement | Subject | OTHERS | Description | Issuance of Import Into Regasification Terminal Licence to Gas Malaysia Energy and Services Sdn Bhd | Gas Malaysia Berhad (“Gas Malaysia” or “the Company”) wishes to inform that Suruhanjaya Tenaga has granted, via a letter dated 17 March 2020, an Import into Regasification Terminal Licence (“the Licence”) to Gas Malaysia Energy and Services Sdn Bhd (“GMES”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company pursuant to the implementation of Third-Party Access system. The Licence allows GMES to carry out activity of an import into regasification terminal, bringing or causing to be brought liquefied natural gas into or within Malaysia by any means other than by transshipment.
The Licence has been granted under the Gas Supply Act 1993 [Act 501] (as amended by the Gas Supply (Amendment) Act 2016) and will take effect commencing 17 March 2020 and shall be valid for a period of 10 years.
The issuance of the Licence will have no material effect on the earnings and financial position of Gas Malaysia Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2020.
None of the Directors or Major Shareholders of Gas Malaysia and/or persons connected with them, has any interest, direct or indirect, in the issuance of the Licence.
This announcement is dated 18 March 2020.

IN PENINSULAR MALAYSIA | Gas Malaysia Berhad (“Gas Malaysia” or “the Company”) wishes to inform that the Government has issued a directive, via a letter from Suruhanjaya Tenaga (“ST”) dated 1 December 2020 which we received today, to effect the average natural gas selling price for the distribution segment by Gas Malaysia’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Gas Malaysia Energy and Services Sdn. Bhd. (“GMES”). The directive is for a period of one (1) year beginning 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021, with the average natural gas selling price to be determined every quarter.
The applicable average natural gas selling price and the natural gas selling price by tariff category for GMES to its customers for the period beginning 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021 will only be announced at the beginning of each quarter.
The natural gas selling price shall include the Transportation Tariff of RM1.19 per MMBtu, the legacy Gas Cost Pass Through of RM0.62 per MMBtu and Distribution Tariff of RM1.88 per MMBtu as previously approved by ST.
Gas Malaysia wishes to clarify that this selling price determination is not applicable to sales of natural gas for Natural Gas Vehicle and Liquefied Petroleum Gas supplied in gas cylinder or in bulk.
The selling price determination will continue to contribute positively towards the financial position of the Company for the financial year ending 31 December 2021.

IN PENINSULAR MALAYSIA | Gas Malaysia Berhad (“Gas Malaysia” or “the Company”) wishes to inform that the implementation of the surcharge of RM0.62/MMBtu as part of the Distribution Tariff for users of the Natural Gas Distribution System (“NGDS”) facility owned by Gas Malaysia’s wholly owned subsidiary, Gas Malaysia Distribution Sdn. Bhd. (“GMD”) will be discontinued for the gas delivered effective from 1 October 2021.
Therefore, GMD’s Distribution Tariff under the Incentive-Based Regulation (“IBR”) framework for all types of utilisations is RM2.05/MMBtu for the period from 1 October 2021 until 31 December 2021.
Gas Malaysia wishes to clarify that the tariff approval is not applicable to the sales of liquefied petroleum gas supplied in gas cylinder or in bulk supply.
The distribution tariff revision will continue to contribute positively towards the financial position of the Company for the financial year ending 31 December 2021.
