08-05-2007: Ornasteel 1Q net profit surges to RM22.7m


                                    OrnasteelHoldings Bhd’s net profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2007surged to RM22.7 million from RM1.82 million a year earlier, mainly dueto higher selling prices and the sales volume of its steel products.
Ornasteel told BursaMalaysia on May 8 that revenue rose 62% to RM327.3 million fromRM201.86 million previously. Earnings per share was 6.01 sen comparedwith 0.48 sen previously.
On current yearprospects, it said the market sentiment had been resilient after theChinese New Year holidays, and that business for the second quarter isexpected to show a continuous upward trend.
“The demand in steelworldwide has grown strong that the price of raw materials has beenraised to a historical level,” it added.
Ornasteel said theprogressive release of several projects under the Ninth Malaysia Planwould also spur the steel consumption domestically in 2007 and 2008.
It said it had startedthe production of the new four-feet cold rolling mill after thesuccessful commissioning stage at end of March.
“With the increasedproduction capacity and favourable market conditions, the group is wellprepared to capture the business opportunity of coming quarters,” itsaid.

EES 類似給員工選擇權 option, >rm1.60 賣就賺價差，expired after 4 years.

钢铁产品获较高售价 彦钢控股盈利飙近40倍 2007/05/09 12:00:57 ●南洋商报

（吉隆坡8日讯）彦钢控股（Onastel，5094，主板工业产品股）在截至今年3月31日的第一季内，税前盈利从去年同期的59万4千令吉，飙升3922.05％至2千389万1千令吉。
其第一季的营业额也从去年同期的2亿零186万1千令吉，上涨62.14％至3亿2千730万4千令吉。

该公司在第一季的税前盈利交出亮丽的表现，主要是因为钢铁产品取得较高的售价以及较高的交易量。

展望未来，公司在第二季的业务将会显示上涨的趋势。全球对钢铁的需求走强，而且原料价格也提高至历史性水平。大马经济增长预测取得6％增长以及第九大马计划，将有助于激励钢铁的消耗量。

這是真的嗎？
是 Continuous 連續式的嗎？
厚度 2.0mm 以上是到多少
目前的產線最厚是不是只可以到 1.4mm

對不起....問題多了一點
只是好奇....為什麼不往高階的產品發展，如 EG 或 Stainless steel
卻往低階的 structure steel 走
擴到來最少也要到 2009 才能生產

案子在等跟貿工部談判後才定案，
因為受限熱軋原料要跟lxon corx Mxga Steel拿40%，
另外該原料賣價比人家製成品還貴。也是msia boleh.
為何會蓋這個廠:
台灣加蓋的煉鋼廠要生產了，多的產能要拿來幫子公司
在msia boleh情況下，不把產能做大到控制性的，很可能會步marucxi後塵。
公司前景，保證你第2/3/4季會至少與第一季一樣。
至於股價，嘿，先去睡覺大個便回來，也不會什麼變的啦。
